Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students (Class 1 to 12) 2018-19, Delhi
The Government of NCT of Delhi invites applications for Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students (Class 1 to 12) 2018-19, Delhi. The scholarship scheme is open for students of class 1 to 12 belonging to the SC/ST/OBC community. Students who are the domiciles of Delhi can get up to INR 4500 per annum. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to students belonging to backward classes.
Who is offering this scholarship ?

 This scholarship scheme is being offered by the Government of NCT of Delhi subdivided and handled specifically by the Department of Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minority. The department is fully committed to the highest level of excellence and transparency in providing benefits to the people.


Who can apply for this scholarship ?

The eligibility requirements for the scholarship are as follows:




  • The student should be studying in class 1 to 12

  • The student should not have less than 70% attendance in the previous academic year

  • The family income of the student should not exceed 2 Lakh per annum

  • The student should belong to the SC/ST/OBC community 

  • The student should be a resident of Delhi for the past three years


What are the benefits ?

The scholarship designed for the welfare of the students in school will lead to the financial assistance of SC/ST/OBC/Minority students of class 1st to 12th in Government/recognized schools of Delhi. The beholders of the scholarship will be awarded:




  • INR 1000 per annum to class 1st to 8th students (No specific % of marks required) 



OBC STUDENTS (Class 6th to 8th)




  • INR 600 per annum  (If the student has scored 55% to 60% marks in the previous class) 

  • INR 720 per annum  (If the student has scored above 60% marks in the previous class)



SC/ST/OBC/Minority (Class 9th to 10th)




  • INR 1620 per annum (If the student has scored 55% to 60% marks in the previous class)

  • INR 2040 per annum (If the student has scored above 60% marks in the previous class) 



SC/ST/OBC/Minority (Class 11th and 12th) 




  • INR 3000 per annum (If the student has scored 55% to 70% marks in the previous class)

  • INR 4500 per annum (If the student has scored above 70% marks in the previous class)

What are the documents required for the Merit Scholarship

The following documents are required:




  • Residence Proof

  • Aadhaar Card/ Ration Card

  • Cast Certificate (for minority self-declaration) 

  • Income certificate (if applicable) 

  • Driving License issued by GNCTD

  • Previous class mark sheet 

  • Domicile certificate issued by SDM in Delhi/ Passbook of a nationalised bank. 

  • Verification letter (for outside Delhi application)

Terms and Conditions

  • In the case of a minority student, a declaration by parent/guardian in the prescribed format that his son/daughter belongs to a particular minority community is required to be uploaded on the portal. 

  • Students must not be receiving benefits under any other centrally/state-funded scholarship.

  • The students who had already registered for the scholarships in the previous year on the E-district portal may opt for renewal by using the previous application id.

  • Student/applicant will be responsible for any incorrect/incomplete information filled in the portal.

  • System generated Login ID should be kept safely by the applicant for monitoring of their application on the e-district portal and e references


Financial Assistance to SC/ST/OBC/Minority 2018-19, Delhi
The eligibility requirements for the scholarship are as follows:

What are the benefits ?

  • INR 100 per month for 10 months for students from class 1st to 8th

  • INR 200 per month for 10 months for students from class 9th to 12th

To be eligible, the candidate must:Be studying in class 11 and above
Belong to OBC categoryHave a family's annual income not exceeding INR 1.5 Lakh per annum
Be pursuing post matriculation/post-secondary (college/university) level studies in Govt. recognized institution
Be a domicile of DelhiNot be receiving any other centrally/state-funded scholarship
What are the benefits ?

The scholarship covers the following benefits-




  • Maintenance allowance

  • Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees

  • Study tour charges

  • Thesis typing/printing charges for research scholars

  • Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses

  • Book bank facility for specified courses

  • Additional allowance for students for the complete duration of the course.



Maintenance allowance provided by the scholarship for the students belonging to different groups of course study are as follows:




  • Group A- Hosteller: INR 750, Day scholar: INR 350

  • Group B- Hosteller: INR 510, Day scholar: INR 335

  • Group C- Hosteller: INR 400, Day scholar: INR 210

  • Group D- Hosteller: INR 260, Day scholar: INR 160



Note: The Department has fixed capping in view of the restricted funds allocated by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and a large number of applications received under the scheme. The capping will be in the following manner-



For hostellers




  • Maintenance allowance: INR 10,000 per annum (maximum)

  • Course fee: INR 20,000

  • Total: INR 30,000



For day scholars




  • Maintenance allowance:  INR 5,000 per annum (maximum)

  • Course fee for day scholar: INR 10,000

  • Total: INR 25,000

  • Students availing any other scholarship/stipend such as merit scholarship will not be eligible for the scholarship

  • Candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in a different subject will not be eligible

  • Students who complete their educational career in one professional line will not be eligible to re-apply for the scholarship

  • Bank account of the student should be seeded with his/her Aadhaar

  • The students who have registered for the scholarship for the F.Y. 2017-18 on E-district portal, can opt for renewal by entering the previous Application ID and update as per the present class.


Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 9 & 10) 2018-19, Delhi
The scholarship is being offered by the Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi.
Who can apply for this scholarship ?

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must-




  • Be a student of class 9 or 10

  • Belong to Scheduled Caste (SC)

  • Be a domicile of Delhi

  • Have an annual family income not exceeding INR 2.5 lakhs per annum

  • Be enrolled in a Government school or in a School recognized by Govt. of a Central/State Board of Secondary Education

  • Not be receiving any other centrally/state-funded scholarship


What are the benefits ?

The following are the benefits offered under this scheme-




  • Class 9 and 10 students will receive a scholarship of INR 225 per month (day scholars) and INR 750 per month (hostellers).

  • There will be a books and ad-hoc Grant of INR 525 (day scholars) per annum and INR 1000 (hostellers) per annum.
