Students given the benefit of allowed-to-keep-term (ATKT) in the recent standard X board re-exam are finding it hard to commute all the way to the only admission centre opened at Hadapsar for getting a login id and password.
The colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have declared their vacancies online and the form filling process for students, who passed the class 10 re-examination in July, will start from Tuesday.
Deputy director of education Dinkar Temkar said, "We will open a centre for ATKT students from Pimpri Chinchwad students in Nav Maharashtra Vidyalaya and Junior College. A new circular will be issued on Tuesday."
Notably, all students who wish to be a part of the special fourth round need to get a new log in id and password. The students who qualify for admissions on the basis of the July 2016 reexam have to put the seat number of the July exam and fill the repeater form. Students who have already taken part in the admission process in the first three rounds have to first put their old id and password after which the system will again ask for a new username and password.
Students have to fill up the names of minimum 10 and maximum 15 colleges in the preference form. Those who have failed in one or two subjects are the ones who are also in the ATKT category. These students have to write down total marks obtained out of 600. The best-out-of-five rule will not apply to them.
Temkar said the college-wise vacancies have been put up on the website. "Over 14,000 seats are still vacant in junior colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad areas. Students should go online and check the vacancies before filling the preference form. The highest number of vacant seats is in the arts stream," said Temkar, adding that about 5,000 students may apply under the ATKT rule.
It is compulsory for all students to get approval of the form 1 from the given approval centres. For this, the students have to keep with them a self-attested copy of both the March and July exam marksheets. The students also need to carry a bonafide certificate signed by their school principal which tells their date of birth.
